Karen studied Business Admin at MSVU and went on to obtain a CGA qualification. She returned to the South Shore after 30 years living and working in Europe - the last 10 of which were building and operating a small-holding in Italy.

Jackie studied Holistic Nutrition and is currently working on her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She is a compassionate soul who loves tending her veggie garden, spending time in nature, and connecting with her community. Jackie is deeply passionate about working collaboratively in community health and wellbeing.

Forest is a heart-led human who takes action with compassion. They are a permaculture homesteader, an herbalist, a death doula, and is hands-on with all things green and earthy. They believe that the better world we all deserve starts within our communities.

Alicia Van de Sande

Site Representative

Alicia is the co-owner of The Water Market in Lunenburg, which she operates with her partner, Lee, and their family. With an extensive background in the not-for-profit sector, she has served as a front-line support worker and program coordinator in the field of domestic violence. Alicia also served as the Senior Safety Coordinator for Lunenburg County. Today, she combines her passion for community service and business by "sponsoring space" for We Feed Lunenburg at The Water Market.

Kandace Forward

Treasurer

Kandace Forward was born and raised in Lunenburg, a community that remains at the heart of who she is. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Lunenburg Board of Trade and Events & Marketing at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Known as a passionate community animator, Kandace is deeply committed to bringing people together through initiatives that support local businesses, celebrate heritage, and strengthen community connections. As Treasurer of We Feed Lunenburg, she is proud to support the organization’s mission of neighbours helping neighbours and ensuring the community continues to care for one another.
