We Feed Lunenburg is dedicated to building a self-sufficient community to help those in need. Our non-profit organization strives to create a sustainable environment where everyone has access to nutritious food and support. Through collaborative efforts and community engagement, we aim to alleviate hunger and promote well-being for all residents of Lunenburg and surrounding area. It all began in 2020 when Karen and Dave realized they were growing more than they needed. They decided to donate their excess produce to the local foodbank. They then thought, if we can do that, let's encourage others to do the same and they began by donating transplants to foodbank clients and folks in the community to grow their own food and give their excess to their local foodbank. This was extended to home baked goods. In 2024, WFL opened the Lunenburg Community Food Pantry to address food insecurity when the local foodbanks are not open and for those who for whatever reason do not wish to use the foodbank. This is a 24/7 resource for the under-served in our community. In summer 2025, WFL expects to open the Lunenburg Community Food Hub which will offer quality fresh produce, dairy and frozen food as well as non-perishables, personal and feminine hygiene items and other household goods.
